AI-DAPT’s 2nd Plenary Meeting

The AI-DAPT consortium successfully held its 2nd plenary meeting on October 15-16, 2024, in Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted by the University of Cyprus (UCY). This productive two-day event brought together project partners to review progress, engage in interactive demonstrations, and plan the next stages of the project. The meeting underscored AI-DAPT’s commitment to advancing AI solutions across key sectors such as health, robotics, energy, and manufacturing.

Agenda Highlights

Day 1:
The meeting kicked off with a welcome session followed by project management updates led by ATHENA. Highlights included:

  • Interactive Demo Session: Each demonstrator presented rapid prototyping sessions, focusing on their respective sectors and identifying essential tools and data.
    • Demonstrator #1 (Health) – CHARITE shared a detailed view of current datasets, pipeline scenarios, and tool usage for each pipeline step.
    • Demonstrator #2 (Robotics) – Presented by MADE.
    • Demonstrator #3 (Energy) – ZENITH offered insights into dataset scenarios and tools in each pipeline.
    • Demonstrator #4 (Manufacturing) – Presented by BIBA.

The afternoon covered methodological sessions, including:

  • WP5 Introduction to the GQM Method: BIBA introduced the Goal Question Metric (GQM) framework to streamline performance assessment.
  • WP7 Data Management and Ethics: Led by ATHENA and S&D, discussions covered data management plans (DMP) and ethics, with each demo team sharing feedback.

A social dinner at ‘240 Mezze Bar’ wrapped up the first day, fostering collaboration and strengthening the consortium’s connections.

Day 2:
Day two was dedicated to technical discussions with a focus on platform architecture and requirements. Key highlights included:

  • WP2, WP3, WP4 Technical Sessions: Project leaders from UBITECH, SUITE5, and ATHENA presented technical stack suggestions and reviewed architectural options for platform development.
  • Finalizing Platform Requirements: Partners debated the visualization interface approach, settling on loosely vs. tightly coupled configurations.
  • Software Artefacts Review and Next Steps: SUITE5 led the consortium in revisiting the list of software artefacts to refine project deliverables.

Next Steps

The meeting concluded with a wrap-up session led by ATHENA, discussing actionable items and setting clear milestones for the months ahead. This plenary meeting was instrumental in aligning the consortium’s vision for AI-DAPT and charting a path toward impactful, trustworthy AI solutions.
